Halloween Victorian Ghost Bridals

Ever since I was a little girl, I have always loved Halloween. What kid doesn’t right? I look forward to it all year long. I plan months in advance on how I decorate and what our family costumes will be. I even have a ‘must-watch’ Halloween movie list that I made that I have to get through before October is over to keep the spirit alive. I even take my little family to local festivities here in Utah like Gardner Village or to Cornbellys at Thanksgiving Point.

I feel like October goes by so fast that I try to soak it up as much as possible. One thing I have never done before was a Halloween themed photoshoot. I have always wanted to but when it comes to October I always run out of time because i’m busy taking everyones family pictures or trying to spend time with my family while enjoying what fall has to offer.

This year I made it a point to do a photoshoot. I didn’t want to do anything that was too on the nose of Halloween (With the exception of the pumpkin pictures) but instead did a blend of my love of victorian homes, and vintage clothing and a bit of ghostliness mixed. I have also always been intrigued by smoke bombs and this shoot seemed like the perfect time to use them. They’re not so much a bomb as in just a tiny tube that emits smoke like a firework.

The funny thing was I wasn’t planning on having pictures with a dog included but earlier in the day I thought it would be rad to have a black dog for these pics to add to that spooky vibe and represent the “hounds of Baskerville” so to speak. But alas I didn’t know anyone with a black dog but while in the middle of my shoot, a man named Scott, I believe, walked by with a large black dog! It was perfect and I asked if we could borrow his dog and he was more than happy to let us for a few shots! It was serendipitous!

The building is located in Provo, Utah and I have loved it from afar for many years. Im so happy I was able to secure permission to do my shoot there. These photos are meant to be ethereal, spooky. Everything from the model and her exquisite features, the bouquet, the gown, hair and make up, and location were chosen specifically to help me get this look.

ENJOY!
